My Site not active after I just uploaded my site?
Solution

I have uploaded my site but when I go to/browse to my http://replace-with-your-domain.com/ I get the following message.

Not Found - The requested URL /index.html was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 NotFound error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

When you get this error it means you have not uploaded your home page index.html (or index.htm, index.php) to its proper place in the public_html directory/folder. Possible you have named the index.html incorrectly. Make sure it is in lower case.

An easy way to verify that you have uploaded your home page index.html to the correct location

Go to your domain control panel
(http://replace-with-your-domain.com/cpanel)

click on the File Manager
click/open Web Root (public_html/www)
This will take you to the public_html directory/folder
The public_html is the directory where all your files go into.

If it is not there use your FTP program and try again or at the top of the screen click on "upload" and it
will open a pop up window.
Please select files to upload to /home/yourusername/public_html
Click on browse and navigate on your PC where the file is located
Repeat this with all files and images you want to upload.

Please see the "File Manager" tutorial here

It is good that you keep all naming of files and images in lowercase.
EVERYTHING on the server is case sensitive. DO NOT use spaces when
naming files and directories, use underscores like this_is_my_imagefile.gif
